When You Need More Than Just a Safe

For many of our clients, their needs go beyond what a safe can provide. Some need a solution that serves many people at one location, such as a shared vault in a luxury condominium or a commercial building. Others need something more personal for their home.

For homeowners, a vault often makes sense when a collection or certain valuables are too large or numerous to store practically in one or two safes. Some want a secure place to protect themselves and their family if someone forces entry while they're at home. Others see a vault as a safe place to shelter during hurricanes or earthquakes. Choosing a vault is a personal decision based on each client's needs and concerns, and our goal is always the same: to give our clients peace of mind.

For condominiums and larger commercial projects, clients typically require a large UL-rated vault with UL-rated lock boxes to meet both security and insurance requirements.

Three Kinds of Vault

Private Vault Rooms
A dedicated, UL-rated, high-security room built into your home or building. Casoro works directly with your architect and builder to ensure the entire room meets UL standards, which your insurance carrier may require, while reflecting your vision for the space. Your design team can finish the interior, and it can include Casoro watch winder panels or an integrated Casoro safe.
Panic and safe rooms
We design and build high-security panic rooms with life-support capabilities, either as a standalone project or integrated with a vault, so a single reinforced space can serve both purposes. Every project begins with a conversation about your needs and is designed around your home and your family.

Communal and Commercial Vaults
For luxury condominiums, high-rise residences, and commercial properties, we build vault rooms that serve the entire property and are designed to complement the building. Individual high-security lock boxes preserve each occupant's privacy and security. If you're a developer or an owner's representative, this is a conversation worth having early, while the floor plan is still in the design phase.
The Framework Behind it all

Designing for Risk™

A vault is one layer. It works because of how it relates to the others: where the house is, how it is approached, what your insurance requires, what happens in a wildfire, and what a professional crew would actually do if they targeted your home.

We co-authored Designing for Risk™ with J.S. Held, a global consulting firm that works with some of the world's largest private collections and the insurance companies that underwrite them. It is the framework behind every vault we design.

Panic Rooms Have Four Jobs

A panic room is not one product. It is four requirements that have to be solved together, because failing any one of them makes the other three irrelevant.
1
The conversation. What you own, where you live, who has access, what keeps you up at night, and what your carrier requires. No drawings yet.
2
The design. We work directly alongside your architect, builder, or designer as an extension of their team, resolving structure, access, concealment, and interior configuration together with the structural plan rather than in sequence.
3
The build. Designed and customized by our team in Santa Ana, California, then built on site, because a vault room is too large to build anywhere else. Walls, door, and access points are fortified to the same standard as every Casoro safe, backed by over thirty years of doing exactly this.
4
The installation. White-glove, start to finish. We take the vault scope entirely off your design team's plate and manage it to the standard they bring to the rest of the project.

Independently Verified

Every Casoro safe carries an independent UL or ETL certification, earned through third-party testing rather than claimed in a brochure. Burglary ratings run from RSC I through TL-30x6, which is TL-30 protection on all six sides rather than the door alone.

FAQ

Often, yes. A private vault inside an individual residence depends on structural conditions, building rules, delivery access, and association requirements. Casoro reviews the project with the owner and the building team to confirm what is possible. For vaults that serve an entire building, see our communal and commercial vaults.

A safe is a self-contained security product available in predetermined dimensions. A vault room uses the room itself as the secure enclosure.

Because a vault room offers more interior space, it may accommodate walk-in access, custom cabinetry, collection displays, dedicated storage zones, and a broader range of valuables. It can also be designed to complement the architecture and finishes of the surrounding property.

An existing room in your home may be suitable for conversion into a vault room. Whether it works depends on the room’s structure, location, dimensions, and access, the installation requirements, and the level of protection you want.

Casoro starts by reviewing the space you have in mind and what you want it to do. We may need architectural drawings, photographs, site information, or an on-site assessment before we can make specific recommendations.

The best time to plan a vault room is early in new construction or a renovation. New construction gives the most flexibility, because the room’s location, structure, access, and utilities can be resolved before the surrounding spaces are finished. Early planning lets the project team work through:

  • Room location
  • Structural requirements
  • Door placement and access
  • Delivery and installation logistics
  • Electrical and lighting needs
  • Interior cabinetry and storage
  • Integration with the surrounding architecture

A vault room can often be added during a renovation or to an existing home too. In those cases, Casoro reviews the plans and the proposed space with the renovation team to confirm what is possible.

Yes. Casoro designs and builds high-security panic rooms with life-support capabilities. A panic room can be a standalone project or combined with a vault, so one reinforced space protects both your family and your valuables. Every project begins with a conversation about your home, your household, and your concerns.

No. A vault room is primarily intended to protect possessions. A panic room is primarily intended to provide a more secure space for people during an emergency. In some projects, the room may be planned to address elements of both uses.

Yes. A custom vault room can include jewelry drawers, watch storage, Casoro watch winders, cabinetry, display areas, shelving, lighting, and other features built around your collection. The interior can also be finished in materials, hardware, and finishes chosen to match the rest of the home, so the room feels like part of the architecture instead of an add-on.

Your vault room can be set up with separate storage areas for different types of valuables, including jewelry, watches, documents, collectibles, and firearms. We plan each storage feature around applicable laws, safety requirements, and your needs.

Yes. Casoro’s dedicated staff work alongside architects, interior designers, builders, and developers from concept through installation, as an extension of the project team. We also work directly with insurance underwriters and risk management teams, ideally early in the project, so the vault meets your carrier’s requirements before it is built rather than after.

A vault room may be possible in a condominium, but the project will depend on structural conditions, building rules, delivery access, association requirements, and the proposed scope. Casoro can review the project with the client and building team.

We understand that a secure-room project involves sensitive information, and we handle every project conversation with discretion. Please don’t submit detailed inventories, access information, or security codes through an online form. Save those details for a direct conversation with your Casoro consultant.
