Verified Burglar Protection You Can Trust

100% of Our Product Line Has Been Verified

Not all safes are created equal. It is important to understand what kind of security a safe offers to avoid a false sense of security.

Underwriters Laboratories has tested safes since 1923. Our UL ratings mean that UL physically attacked our safe with professional tools and certified how long it held: five minutes for RSC I, thirty for TL-30. Your insurance carrier recognizes those numbers. A rating a manufacturer gives itself means nothing to an underwriter.

Burglar Protection

We offer four standard levels of security, each are listed and verified by Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) for the security they provide. You choose the level of security that’s best for your collection and circumstances. We can provide safes with yet higher levels of security upon request.

You Choose the Level of Security You Want

UL RSCI
Residential security with fire protection, these safes successfully withstood UL’s test emulating a typical home burglary. Our Casoro RSCI safes have two layers of steel that combine for approximately ¼” steel body and a ½” steel plate on the door.
UL RSCII
These safes are built to withstand a more sophisticated residential burglary. Our Casoro RSCII safes have a total of nearly ½” steel in the body and ½” steel plate in the door. Our RSCII safes use the same doorframe and boltwork construction as our commercially graded UL TL15 burglar resistive safes.
UL TL15 Stealth
Commercial level security for higher value collections or when you are likely to be targeted by a professional safe cracker; does not include fire protection. Insurance companies typically will ensure up to $150,000 of inventory in a retail jewelry store.
UL TL30 2 Hr Fire
Commercial level security for higher value collections or when you are likely to be targeted by a professional safe cracker, includes fire protection, beware of heavier weight often requiring reinforced floors. Insurance companies typically will ensure up to $350,000 of inventory in a retail jewelry store.

Construction Rating vs. Performance Ratings

Burglar security comes down to two kinds of ratings: Construction ratings describe what a safe is made of, while performance ratings reveal how it holds up when someone actually tries to break in.

When standards were first created, insurers predicted security from construction alone — chiefly the thickness of the steel — but found it wasn't enough and led to a false sense of security and unacceptably high rates of loss. Thick steel may be impressive, yet plenty of other details in how a safe is built shape the true level of protection it offers. Today, insurers lean on performance ratings to decide how much risk they're willing to carry, and those ratings are earned by passing tests at UL, the authority in performance testing.

A Deeper Dive into UL Performance Ratings

UL tests are carried out by seasoned UL technicians who are, effectively, professional safecrackers. Net attack time counts only the "tools on the safe" time, so time spent thinking, switching tools, or any other work disruption is not included.

Here’s how the different ratings stack up:
